New Mitsubishi Colt: Test Drive.
1. New compact car from Mitsubishi
As it was already informed on our site, the new Mitsubishi Colt which has gone on sale in November 2002, was developed in cooperation with the Daimler-Chrysler company and has a common platform with the new Smart compact. As manufacturer declares, all requirements for the modern compact car were taken into account during development. These are safety, fuel efficiency and ecology aspect. Besides this, company has given a lot of attention to quality of production.
Looking at the car, the first thing that is evident is the body shape, which creates sensation of a stream, smoothly flowing from the front bumper up to the end of a roof. The second thing is large threefold brilliant logo decorating the front grille as Mitsubishi attempt to ressurect company's lost image.
You will have only pleasant emotions sitting in this car. Interior is made with better quality materials and you have a choice of different interior variants which create absolutely opposite atmosphere - from light and warm one, to sports and cool. Front seats have two versions - separate and made as a single sofa. On the other hand, rear seats can be separated, that allows rear seat position, inclination and rotation adjustment. With gearbox lever relocated to steering column and use of a foot type "handbrake", it is much easier to move inside the new Colt.
The new car has two air bags as standard. But as for other equipment, the choice is simply not set. For the first time Mitsubishi will use customer free choice (CFC) ordering system which allows choosing any equipment you wish, for both types of engines.
